Government of Change to Invest $520 Billion in 150 Solidarity Supply Points
The government of President Gustavo Petro has signed a contract worth a total of $520 billion with the Financial Development Corporation (Findeter) for the construction of 150 Solidarity Supply Points (PAS) as part of the Hunger Zero program. This initiative aims to eradicate hunger and ensure the human right to adequate and sustainable food in prioritized territories.
Gustavo Bolívar, the Director General of Prosperity Social, emphasized that this contract represents an inter-institutional response to effectively address the issue of hunger in the country. The entity also highlighted the importance of comprehensive technical assistance, which will ensure the proper execution of the works in the selected municipalities.
Prosperity Social announced that in the coming two months, Findeter will carry out the verification of documents from the call for proposals conducted between July 29 and August 16, 2024. Subsequently, visits will be scheduled to the 150 nominated municipalities, and agreements will be signed with local governments to initiate the execution of the works.
The construction of the Solidarity Supply Points is expected to begin in the last week of October, with a projected timeline of eight months for completion. Prosperity Social has committed to periodically presenting updates on the project to ensure transparency and keep citizens informed about the status of the contract execution.
