In response to roadblocks caused by the truckers' strike, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has launched an urgent action plan aimed at ensuring the priority passage of vehicles responsible for transporting food, perishable products, and livestock nationwide.
The agricultural department has requested that authorities and strike leaders establish supply corridors to prevent economic losses and ensure the availability of food across the country. To coordinate these efforts, a Unified Command Post (PMU) has been set up, working in close collaboration with the Ministry of Transport to continuously monitor the food supply situation.
The monitoring aims to identify the most affected areas and activate contingency plans, alternative routes, and supply corridors to minimize the impact on producers and consumers. The Ministry has emphasized the importance of allowing unrestricted transit for vehicles transporting food, warning that blockades could lead to significant losses for producers and potential shortages in markets.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Agriculture has stressed that access to fresh products at fair prices is a right of citizens, reiterating the necessity of ensuring safe and swift transit for these vehicles to avoid price speculation that could directly affect consumers.
